STUDY BASICS

Stress can take a toll on your mind and body! Researchers are looking at the effect of training programs designed to improve your health and well-being. If you are in good health and are between 65 and 93 you may be able to participate in this study. Compensation provided.


STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this research study is to learn if training programs designed to improve your health and well-being are effective.

  • Between 65 and 93
  • In good mental and physical health

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
Professional instructors will offer training in healthy aging training programs for 8 weeks. You will be asked to complete daily surveys. These surveys will be sent to you via a smartphone, which will be loaned to you and collected at the end of the study. 2 follow up visits - one when classes end and one 3 months later. These visits include answering questions and having blood drawn.

J. David Creswell

J. David Creswell, PhD, is an associate professor of psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Creswell’s research focuses broadly on understanding what makes people resilient under stress. Specifically, he conducts community intervention studies to understand how various stress management strategies alter coping and stress resilience.
