STUDY BASICS

Are you a woman aged 40-64 who lives in Fayette, Lawrence, or Butler County in Pennsylvania? If so, you may be able to participate in a research study to help understand heart health experiences of women in the Appalachian region of Pennsylvania. Participation involves completing three online activities and one discussion. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

A woman’s heart health can be affected by many factors. The purpose of this research study is to learn more about heart health experiences among women who live in the Appalachian region of Pennsylvania. Researchers hope their findings lead to better ways to improve heart health and prevent heart disease in the future.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Women aged 40-64
  • Live in Fayette, Lawrence, or Butler County in Pennsylvania and have lived there for at least 2 years
  • English speaking

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation involves the completion of three online activities and one discussion/interview online or over the phone.

Jessica Thompson

Jessica Thompson is a doctoral candidate in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Thompson’s research interests include community-engaged approaches to health problems, chronic disease prevention, and rural and Appalachian women's health.
