STUDY BASICS

Are you a UPMC Pain Medicine patient with chronic pain that has lasted more than 6 months? If so, you may be eligible to complete a 5 minute online survey to help researchers gather feedback about the usefulness of smartphone apps designed to help manage chronic pain. Participants will be entered into a random drawing for a gift card.

STUDY PURPOSE
Millions of people struggle with chronic pain, which is often defined as any type of pain that lasts longer than a few months. While there are many smartphone applications (“apps”) available to help people manage chronic pain, there is little information about how helpful these apps are for patients. The purpose of this study is to gather feedback from people with chronic pain about the usefulness of smartphone apps designed to help manage chronic pain. Researchers hope their findings will lead to better ways to manage chronic pain in the future.
