STUDY BASICS

Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh are seeking broad community participation from adults with or without a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (or other neuroinflammatory disease) to complete a survey study to help understand PASC or long hauler. Participants may or may not have had COVID-19 or a COVID-19 vaccine. Participation involves completing a one-time online survey.

STUDY PURPOSE

People who have multiple sclerosis (MS) or other neuroinflammatory diseases may have different experiences and concerns related to COVID-19 infection, COVID-19 vaccines, and PASC when compared to people without these types of conditions. The purpose of this survey study is to better understand the prevalence and predictors of PASC in people with and without MS (or a related disorder such as neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder or MOG-antibody mediated disease). Researchers hope their findings lead to a better understanding of COVID-19 in general and improve care for our patients.

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Ages 18 and up
  • Participants may or may not have a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis or another neuroinflammatory disease (eg, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, MOG-antibody mediated disease)
  • Participants may or may not have had a COVID-19 infection or a COVID-19 vaccination.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation takes place entirely online. A one-time survey will be sent to your email. The questions you are asked with each survey will depend on your COVID-19 infection and vaccination status.
