SCS + PT for Stroke
STUDY BASICS
Have you had a stroke? Do you have arm weakness or spasticity? You may be eligible for a research study exploring the potential of electrical spinal cord stimulation to improve arm function in people who have had a stroke. Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of our study is to assess the safety of electrical stimulation of the spinal nerves (SCS) when combined with physical therapy in people who have had a stroke. As a secondary goal, we want to understand if SCS paired with physical therapy can improve the execution of simple arm and hand movements and if they impact muscle tightness, also known as spasticity.
