STUDY BASICS

Did you recently have a knee replacement? You may be eligible to participate in a research study to learn more about the rehabilitation experience of patients who have recently undergone joint replacement surgery. Participants will be asked to attend a virtual discussion group (60-90 minutes) to share their opinions and experiences with physical therapy after joint replacement surgery.


STUDY PURPOSE

Physical therapy researchers in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh are conducting a study to determine the optimal combination of home health and outpatient rehabilitation after joint replacement surgery and to understand patients’ and health care providers’ opinions regarding optimal post-joint replacement rehabilitation.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • underwent knee replacement in the past 12 months
  • had home health or outpatient physical therapy through UPMC Home Health or UPMC Rehabilitation institute

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
  • Attend a 60-90 minute online focus group with 6-10 other people
  • Tell us about your rehab/physical therapy experience
