Neuro Study for Pregnant Women in an Opioid Replacement Therapy Program
STUDY BASICS
Are you currently pregnant and taking Subutex (Buprenorphine), Suboxone, or Methadone? You may be able to participate in a study to evaluate the effects of these medications on the fetal and newborn baby’s brain. There are four parts to this study, and you may choose to participate in one or more parts. Compensation is provided for all parts of the study.

Steve (Steleanos) Caritis
Steve N Caritis, MD, is professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Caritis has spent over 40 years providing outstanding medical care to women in the Pittsburgh area. He is an active researcher, focusing on making sure that medications prescribed for pregnant women are safe and effective. Because of his work, the University of Pittsburgh was named as one of the original locations of the Obstetrical-Fetal Pharmacology Research Units (OPRU) Network by the National Institutes of Health.
