STUDY BASICS

Do you perceive that you have mild, mild-to-moderate, or moderate hearing loss? You may be eligible to participate in a research study on how measured hearing relates to perceived hearing loss. Participation involves one visit to our laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh to complete a questionnaire about your hearing and hearing testing. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research is to better understand the relationship between peoples’ perceived hearing status and their measured hearing ability. There are data to suggest that these two things may not match. In other words, a person might think they have better or worse hearing than their measured hearing results show.
