STUDY BASICS

Are you the parent of a teen girl age 13-17 who is the mother of one child? If so, your daughter may want to participate in a study that will pair her with a mentor, or Maikuru, to provide her with a support network. Involves 5 weekly 2-hour educational sessions. Participants will receive a meal, child-care, bus tickets/parking at each session, and compensation for completing all sessions.

Jeannette South-Paul

Jeannette E. South-Paul, MD, is the Department Chair of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. South-Paul’s research interests include teen pregnancy prevention, eliminating health disparities with a focus on chronic disease management, and cultural competence training and assessment.
