STUDY BASICS
Do you have a motor impairment or have blindness/low vision? You may be eligible for a research study to see if teaching people with disabilities how to use a smart speaker can help them to use the technology. This is a randomized study, which means participants are assigned by chance to review one of two sets of training materials. Compensation provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to evaluate different types of online smart speaker training materials among people with motor and/or visual impairments.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- Are 18 years or older.
- Have a motor disability, blindness, or low vision.
- Have a smartphone or computer.
- Can read and speak English.
- Have internet access and Wi-Fi.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
1.Baseline session (45-60 minutes)
- Complete a demographics questionnaire.
- Identify 2-3 personal goals related to daily activities.
2. Two-week online training (2-3 hours)
- Review one set of training materials assigned at random.
- Work at your own pace.
- Review your goals.
3. Follow-up session (30-45 minutes)
- Occurs two weeks after you finish the online training.
- Review your goals again.
