STUDY BASICS
Are you the parent/legal guardian of child who died by suicide? You may be eligible for a research study at the University of Pittsburgh to learn more about risk factors for youth suicide. Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the risk factors and circumstances surrounding youth suicide. We are asking families and peers of youth who died by suicide to participate in this study.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
Parents who lost a child under 18 years of age to suicide in the past 2 years may be eligible to participate along with sibling(s) and close peers of the youth who died by suicide.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
The research study involves one Zoom visit consisting of a research interview and questionnaire.

Jamie Zelazny
Jamie Zelazny, PhD, MPH, RN, is Assistant Professor of Health & Community Systems at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Dr. Zelazny has more than 30 years of psychiatric nursing experience in clinical and research settings. Her research is focused on the use of technology to identify and manage suicidal thoughts and behavior in youth. She also has a strong interest in the protection of human subjects in research involving technology and in research involving suicidal individuals.
