Survey on Transportation and Mobility Needs among People with Disabilities

STUDY BASICS

Do you self-identify as having a disability that affects your mobility and/or use assistive devices? You may be eligible for a research study evaluating the usability of transportation services. The survey requires approximately 45 minutes for completion and can be accessed through any device that connects to the Internet, but it is optimized to be taken on a computer/desktop.

STUDY PURPOSE

The survey aims to gather information and opinions related to accessibility of current transportation modes and/or services, health conditions affecting mobility, and perceptions on automated vehicles from individuals with mobility impairments. Survey findings will be used to understand current needs for accessible transportation and inform the accessible design of future automated vehicles to accommodate users of all abilities, including those with and without impairments.

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

• 18 years or older
• Reside in Allegheny County, PA AND
• Self-identify as having a disability that limits mobility. This includes either having a medical condition that limits mobility AND/OR relying on an assistive device such as wheelchair, walker, prosthesis, cane for mobility.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Online survey requiring about 45 minutes total, presented in two sections, Part-1 needing about 25 minutes ($5) and an optional Part-2 needing 15-20 minutes (additional $5).
