STUDY BASICS

The Systems Neuroscience of Auditory Perception Lab is seeking participants aged 18+ with hearing loss for a research study on how our ears and brains help us communicate in situations with background sounds, like crowded restaurants and busy streets. Participation involves visits for hearing testing and brainwave measurements, and completion of online tasks at home. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to better understand how our ears and brains help us perceive the world around us. In particular, we are interested in understanding how our senses allow us to have conversations in complex environments such as crowded restaurants and busy streets. We aim to do so by collecting audiological information from a large number of participants so that we can pinpoint what factors contribute to individual differences in hearing outcomes.
