STUDY BASICS

Are you between ages 18-30? Are you the primary user of an Android or iOS smartphone? You may be eligible for a research study to better understand aggressive feelings and behaviors in young adults. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research is to better understand aggressive feelings and behaviors in young adults. We are interested in gaining a better understanding of the factors that predict when and how people feel or act aggressively. The study is designed to learn more about day-to-day changes in social situations, emotions, behaviors, and motivations for aggression. The hope is that this work will contribute to the better understanding of individual differences in when and why people choose to become aggressive.

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

Eligible participants are:

  • Between ages 18-30
  • The primary user of an Android or iOS smartphone

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

If you are eligible to participate based on your age and smartphone device, we will schedule a phone call with study staff where you will answer a brief series of questions to determine whether you are eligible to come to an in-person session in our lab. During the in-person lab session, you'll complete a standard interview about mental health symptoms and fill out several questionnaires about your personality and other relevant behavior. In addition, the session will include training on how to download two apps on your smartphone that you will use to complete short questionnaires every day. This smartphone portion of the study will last 21 days, or about 3 weeks.
