STUDY BASICS

Are you in 8th-12th grade? Do you identify as Black? You may be able to participate in a research study examining mental health literacy and treatment-seeking behaviors of Black youth. This study involves completing one online survey to better understand your understanding of mental health illness and what can be done to help other youth feel more comfortable seeking mental health treatment.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to check your ability to recognize symptoms of mental illness that require treatment. There is no direct benefit to you for participating in this study, but your participation may increase scientific knowledge.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

Eligible participants:

  • Are 8th-12th grade students
  • Must have an internet-connected device to complete the survey

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Your participation will mean completing a 10-minute long online survey. At the end of the survey, you will have the option to enter your email for a random chance to receive a $20 gift card for participating in this study. Survey responses are anonymous and are not associated with the email address provided to receive the gift card. The chance of receiving a gift card is 1 in 6.
