STUDY BASICS

Are you a parent that has decided not to vaccinate your child(ren) against COVID-19? You and your child may be eligible for a research study to learn more about your decision. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

We understand you have decided against your child receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. We are interested in learning more about your decision. We are looking for parents, who have decided against COVID-19 vaccination, to complete interviews to help us better understand why parents are opting not to vaccinate their children against COVID-19. 


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

Eligible participants:

  • Are age 18 or older 
  • Have a child age 5-17 years old
  • Have decided not to vaccinate your child against COVID-19

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation in this research study will take approximately an hour:

  • We will first ask you a series of questions that helps us better understand why you decided not to vaccinate your child.
  • After the first set of questions are answered, we will move on to a series of questions regarding how you feel about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine yourself.
  • The third portion of the study involves your child answering questions related to the COVID-19 vaccination. We will also ask you and your child to draw us a picture to help us better understand your views on the vaccination.

MEET THE RESEARCHER


Nader Shaikh

Nader Shaikh, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Shaikh is particularly interested in researching how to best diagnose and treat common infections in children.
