STUDY BASICS

Are you a woman between the ages of 18-45 who is not pregnant? If so, you may be able to participate in a research study to help better understand women’s beliefs about long-acting reversible contraception (LARC). Participants must receive care at a UPMC-affiliated family health center. Compensation provided.

STUDY PURPOSE
Long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) are methods of birth control that can prevent pregnancy for a long time and can be removed. Examples of LARCs include intrauterine devices (IUDs) placed in the uterus and hormone-containing implants inserted under the skin of the arm. The purpose of this study is to help researchers understand women’s beliefs about long-acting reversible contraception. Researchers hope their findings will lead to the development of better education and information for women who may need birth control options.
