STUDY BASICS

Are you pregnant or postpartum? People who have high blood pressure are at greater risk for a stroke or heart attack. Getting your blood pressure checked regularly is an important part of staying healthy. You may be able to participate in a research study to help develop a smartphone blood pressure device. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

If you have high blood pressure, you are at greater risk for a stroke or heart attack. So, getting your blood pressure checked regularly is an important part of staying healthy. Unfortunately, cuff blood pressure measurement devices are not readily accessible. As a result, many people do not know they have high blood pressure. On the other hand, many people have and regularly use smartphones. The purpose of this study is to establish a smartphone-based device for blood pressure measurement. Measurements from human subjects are vital to create the device.
