Enhancing Telemedicine for T2D
STUDY BASICS
Do you have type 2 diabetes? This research study may be right for you! Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh are looking for adults age 18 years and older who have type 2 diabetes, use insulin, and have other chronic health conditions. The study is comparing two ways to care for adults with type 2 diabetes through telemedicine (video visits). Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The goal of the study is to understand how diabetes care can best be provided to patients through telemedicine to support patients who are not able to go to a clinic for in-person diabetes specialty care.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- 18 years or older
- Type 2 diabetes
- Use insulin
- Other long-term health conditions
- Cell phone, tablet, or computer with internet access to complete video visit
- Other criteria may also apply
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
All participants will meet with a diabetes specialist one or more times through video visits, and half of participants will be assigned to have additional care from other diabetes care team members. Participants will be asked to complete 3 surveys over 6 months, and information on their diabetes care will be collected from the medical record.
