STUDY BASICS

Are you the parent of a baby between 10 and 12 months of age? Was your baby born full term? You and your baby may be eligible to participate in a research study about how parents and babies play and build new spaces together.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to understand how parents structure infants’ everyday spaces for play. This study will observe how pre-walking and walking infants and their parents play in new environments, one designed by the parent and the other designed by the research team.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
  • During the visit, you will be video-recorded (including audio and photographs) as you setup a playroom using an object set that we will provide and as you and your baby play in our laboratory playroom with a set of toys.
  • You will answer questions about your baby’s motor skills, such as crawling and walking.
  • You will complete questionnaires.
