Are you receiving chemo for cancer at UPMC? You may be eligible for a research study on symptoms during chemotherapy. The goal is to design and develop an application that uses real-time symptom reports and sensor data to support optimal symptom management and quality of life during chemotherapy. Compensation is provided.

- Own a smartphone
- Willing to wear a Fitbit
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
- Install a study app on your smartphone that collects symptom ratings
- Wear a Fitbit activity tracker (which is yours to keep after the study)
- Rate your symptoms daily
- Answer questions about health and quality of life at the beginning, middle, and end of study

Carissa Low
Carissa Low, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Psychology, and Biomedical Informatics and Director of the Mobile Sensing + Health Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Low received her PhD in clinical and health psychology from UCLA and completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh before joining the University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine faculty in 2013.
Dr. Low's research focuses on the use of technology to monitor and manage chronic health conditions, with particular emphasis on remote patient monitoring and symptom management during and after cancer treatment.
