STUDY BASICS

Are you 20-45 years old with a BMI of 30 or higher? If so, you may be eligible for a research study assessing the effects of diet on bone health. Compensation provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to find out how bone health (the strength and overall condition of the body’s bones) is influenced by diet.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Ages 20-45
  • BMI (body mass index) of 30 or higher
  • Taking no regular medications and no chronic medical conditions for obesity
  • Not using hormonal contraception (the Pill, hormonal IUD or hormonal implant)

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation includes 1 study visit to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and completion of a food dairy. Compensation provided.
