STUDY BASICS
Do you have type 2 diabetes? You may be eligible for a research study about patients’ experiences accessing Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) programs. Participation involves a phone or virtual interview that takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this research study is to understand the needs of patients with diabetes to help improve access to Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) programs.

- Are 18 or older
- Are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
- Had a primary care visit in the last 18 months

Shari Rogal
Shari Rogal, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, Co-Director of the IMPACT and Implementation Lab Cores at Pitt’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and a Core Investigator and staff transplant hepatologist at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Rogal’s research interests include liver transplant outcomes with a particular focus on addiction and pain in chronic liver disease patients. She is also interested in using implementation science to address health disparities.
