Smart Speaker Training Intervention - Aim 3

Do you have a motor impairment or have blindness/low vision? You may be eligible for a research study to see if teaching people with disabilities how to use a smart speaker can help them to use the technology. This is a randomized study, which means participants are assigned by chance to review one of two sets of training materials. Compensation provided.

Assistive Devices

AGE: 18 and older

DURATION: approximately 2 weeks

VISITS: at your own pace or with a research team member

LOCATION: over Zoom (video or audio)

COMPENSATION: $40 after you completing the follow-up session and will keep the Alexa device once you finish the study

Adaptive Optics Imaging Study – age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, or other eye condition

Have you been diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, or another retinal disease? If so, you may be able to take part in a research study to test a new imaging technology. Compensation provided.

DURATION: Up to 5 years

VISITS: Up to 60 visits

LOCATION: UPMC Vision Institute - Mercy Pavillion

COMPENSATION: $25 per study visit
