Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Research Study for Pregnant Women - 16-17

Are you the parent of a teen that is currently pregnant? Your teen can help us to learn how the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccine protects infants. Pediatricians at the University of Pittsburgh are conducting a research study to better understand how well and how long protection from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine lasts for babies. Participants are compensated for their time.

Voiceitt - Adolescent 13-17

Does your child have speech impairments? This research study will test the effectiveness of the Voiceitt app in improving communication of individuals with speech impairments. The study will involve multiple sessions and most of them are done remotely via HIPAA-compliant Zoom. Participants will be provided with a Voiceitt app license for one year at no cost.

BRAVE Study - age 10-13

Are you the parent of a 10-13-year-old? Interested in research? The University of Pittsburgh is looking for teens between the ages of 10 and 13 to take part in a study looking at the effects of puberty on brain function and emotional health. Participation involves one visit to the University of Pittsburgh over 2 years. Compensation is provided.

BRAVE Study - age 10-13 with anxiety

Are you the parent of a 10–13-year-old? Is your teen often anxious? The University of Pittsburgh is looking for adolescents with moderate to severe anxiety symptoms to take part in a research study investigating the relationship between puberty, brain function, and emotional health. Participation involves one visit to the University of Pittsburgh over 2 years. Compensation is provided.

BEATRIX Study: A Study to Learn About Group B Streptococcus Vaccine in Healthy Pregnant Women and Their Infants

Are you the parent of a teenager who is pregnant? Your teen may be eligible for a research study looking at an investigational maternal vaccine that is designed to protect pregnant women and their babies from the 6 most common types of Group B streptococcus (GBS). If your teenager joins this study, they will receive 1 dose of the study vaccine or placebo between weeks 24 and 36 of their pregnancy.

VISITS: 5-6 visits and 4 visits for their baby

The SUPPORT Research Study - Teens 14-17

Are you the parent of a teen that is less than 12 weeks pregnant and experiencing periods of time where access to nutritional food is limited or are not always sure where the next meal may come from? They may be eligible for a research study to find out if using a trimester-specific prenatal vitamin verses a generic prenatal vitamin starting in the first trimester of pregnancy will improve health.

Your teen may be eligible for a research study to understand how well a game-based intervention reduces alcohol harms and improves other health behaviors among adolescents. If your teen joins the research study, they will play a video game and answer surveys. Compensation is provided.

Does appearance effect healthcare interactions? This research study wants to learn from previously hospitalized youth and their caregivers about how appearance-based biases shape health care interactions and how youth receive care in the hospital setting.
