The SUPPORT Research Study - Teens 14-17

Are you the parent of a teen that is less than 12 weeks pregnant and experiencing periods of time where access to nutritional food is limited or are not always sure where the next meal may come from? They may be eligible for a research study to find out if using a trimester-specific prenatal vitamin verses a generic prenatal vitamin starting in the first trimester of pregnancy will improve health.

Are you the parent of a teen between the ages of 14-17? Your teen may be eligible for a research study to understand how well a game-based intervention reduces alcohol harms and improves other health behaviors among adolescents. If your teen joins the research study, they will play a video game and answer surveys. Compensation is provided.

Hair, Identity, and Health Care: Youth Experiences in Hospitals

Does appearance effect healthcare interactions? This research study wants to learn from previously hospitalized youth and their caregivers about how appearance-based biases shape health care interactions and how youth receive care in the hospital setting. Participation involves completing a 120-minute interview. Compensation is provided.

Is your teen pregnant? Is your teen interested in sharing their experience with food access and health? Your child may be eligible for a research study about food insecurity and health at the University of Pittsburgh. Compensation is provided.

Panda Study – Ages 14-17

Are you the parent of a child age 14-17 who is enrolled in high school? Does your child identify as LGBQ+? Your teen may be able to participate in a research study to help learn more about how social experiences, including difficult social experiences, impact brain function in ways that may contribute to depression. Eligible participants are right-handed and willing/able to undergo MRI scanning.
