MPower Hub Initial Interviews
STUDY BASICS
Are you 18 to 75 years old and diagnosed with diabetes? Are you currently prescribed at least one diabetes medication? You may be eligible for a research study looking at people with diabetes and how they use technology to manage their health. Compensation provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this research study to ask adults with diabetes for their opinions about computer and mobile applications used to manage diabetes. We are interested in hearing both from people who have tried using these types of ‘apps’, and from people who haven’t. We will also ask for people’s opinions on a new online application we are developing to help people with diabetes better understand and use information that comes from home sugar and activity monitors.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- 18-75 years old
- Diagnosed with diabetes (type 1 or type 2)
- Currently prescribed at least one diabetes medication
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
If you agree to participate, a member of the study team will ask you to complete a survey related to how you currently use technology to manage your diabetes. After completing this survey, we may contact you to complete an interview with us, where we will ask you some questions to find out a little about you, any experiences you’ve had using technology to manage diabetes, and your opinions about how new applications might help you better use technology to manage diabetes. The interview is expected to last between 30-60 minutes, and will be conducted using a Pitt-licensed and HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom.
