Voiceitt - Parent of adolescent 13-17
STUDY BASICS
Does your child have speech impairments? This research study will test the effectiveness of the Voiceitt app in improving communication of individuals with speech impairments. The study will involve multiple sessions and most of them are done remotely via HIPAA-compliant Zoom. Participants will be provided with a Voiceitt app license for one year at no cost.
STUDY PURPOSE
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of the Voiceitt app in improving communication for individuals with speech impairments due to conditions such as cerebral palsy (CP), stroke, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or Parkinson's disease.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
Parent of an adolescent
- Age 13 to 17 years old
- Have moderately severe speech dysarthria
- Able to understand and follow instructions for using the Voiceitt app.
- Internet and Zoom Access
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
Your adolescent would
- Participate in multiple sessions of the study including training to use the Voiceitt app and a series of speech activities.
- Try out a mobile app for 1 year.
- Receive support from a speech therapist.
- Complete surveys and/or interviews.
- Most sessions are completed remotely over Zoom.
- Participants will receive a free subscription of the Voiceitt app for 1 year
