STUDY BASICS

Are you the parent of a Latino teenager? You and/or your teen may be eligible for a research study to learn more about how Latino teenagers and/or parents/guardians think about gender identity so that we can determine the best way for researchers to ask Latino participants about their gender identity in the future. Participation involves a one-time individual interview. Compensation provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to interview Latino teenagers and parents/guardians to learn more about how they think about gender identity so that we can determine the best way for researchers to ask Latino participants about their gender identity in the future.

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Parent or Caregiver of a 13 to 19 year old (It’s not necessary for you and your teenager to participate if only one of you is interested.)
  • Identify as Latino, Latina, Latine/x or Hispanic

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

If you and/or your child decide to participate, you will be invited to a one-time individual interview. This interview will be about 1 hour-long and we will ask you to share how you think about concepts like gender, sexuality, and dating violence, and we will also ask you to give us feedback on how best to ask questions on these topics. We want you and/or your child to give recommendations you have for improving the materials.
