Barriers to Care for Adults with Vestibular Disorders - Healthcare Providers
STUDY BASICS
Have you managed one or more patients diagnosed with a peripheral vestibular disorder? You may be eligible for a research study to identify barriers and facilitators to managing and delivering effective care for individuals diagnosed with peripheral vestibular disorders. Participants will be asked to complete a one-on-one interview and, about one year later, a focus group. Compensation provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of our research study is to identify barriers to accessing and managing care for individuals diagnosed with peripheral vestibular disorders. Specifically, we want to understand barriers and facilitators from the perspectives of health care providers to overcome barriers and support facilitators to evidence-based care in the future.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- Are age 18 or older
- Employed at UPMC
- Previously managed 1 or more patients diagnosed with a peripheral vestibular disorder
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
Participants will be asked to complete a one-on-one interview describing their experiences with managing patients who have been diagnosed with peripheral vestibular disorders. We will also ask participants to participate in a focus group to share their experiences with delivering care and prioritize strategies to overcome the barriers and support the facilitators identified in the interviews about 1 year after the initial visit.
