EMBRACE: Evaluating Mind-Body Responses Across Challenge Experiences
STUDY BASICS
Are you an adult ages 18-29 years willing to participate in one 2.5-hour in-person study session? You may be eligible for a research study testing how the mind and body respond to restful and challenging tasks. Participants will complete rest and challenge tasks while we measure blood pressure, salivary hormones, and body movements. Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to measure how your body and mind respond to rest and challenge.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- Age 18-29 years
- Fluent in English
- Able to come to the University of Pittsburgh for an in-person session
- Willing to provide saliva samples and have your blood pressure and body movements measured
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
- Attending one 2.5-hour study session
- Completing questionnaires about your thoughts and feelings
- A rest task and a challenge task
- Providing saliva, blood pressure, and body movement data
