NO IN-PERSON VISITS
STUDY BASICS

Do you want to learn more about managing your high blood pressure? You may be eligible for a research study to help people with hypertension better manage their blood pressure. This study is remote, so participants do not need to travel. Participants will be asked to answer some questions with the study team over the phone. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

High blood pressure is a frequent problem. If it is not controlled, high blood pressure can cause people to have heart attacks or strokes. Many people take medicines to keep their blood pressure under control. They also might monitor their blood pressure at home. The overall purpose of this study is to see if we can improve how people control their blood pressure.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • You have high blood pressure.
  • You want help managing your high blood pressure.
  • You want to work on improving your health.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
  • Answer questions about your medical history.
  • Receive a smart phone for 6 months and use study apps several times per week.
  • Take your blood pressure reading 4 times a week. (NOTE: A cuff will be provided)
  • Have a follow up interview at 6 and 12 months.

Jared Magnani

Jared W. Magnani, MD, MSc, is a Visiting Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. A graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Magnani’s research interests include conducting clinical research on the social determinants of health.
