Frequent Ear Infections in Children
STUDY BASICS
Are you a parent of a child who has had ear tubes placed in the past year? You may be eligible for a research study to better understand parents’ experiences with obtaining care for their sick children. Participation includes completing one or more short questionnaires. Your responses may help improve the experience of other families in the future.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to better understand parents’ experiences with obtaining care for their sick children.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOUR CHILD?
- Your child has had ear tubes placed in the past year
- The parent is age 18 or older
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
Participation includes the parent completing one or more short questionnaires and/or phone calls. This survey may include questions about the medication your child has received or about their history with infections and treatment experiences.

Nader Shaikh
Nader Shaikh, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Shaikh is particularly interested in researching how to best diagnose and treat common infections in children.
