Autologous Cryopreserved Fat Grafting Study

STUDY BASICS

Are you seeking facial reconstructive surgery for a prior facial injury received from accident or trauma? Are you 18 years of age, or older? You may be eligible to participate in a research study with the department of plastic surgery. The study is assessing the effect of a two-stage intervention, using your own harvested fat, gathered through liposuction.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to assess a two stage surgical intervention intended to provide soft tissue regeneration to the face, in those with facial injuries that have left a structural defect, after accident or trauma.  

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

• Seeking facial reconstructive surgery for a prior facial injury received from accident or trauma
• 18 years of age, or older
• Last surgical treatment AND your injury occurred more than 3 months ago

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

• Your study participation will last approximately 8 months.
• The study is assessing the effect of a two-stage intervention, using your own harvested fat, gathered through liposuction.
• Both interventions will involve surgery, but our second procedure will be shorter.  This second procedure will not require collecting new fat samples.
