STUDY BASICS

Are you 18-49 years old, a current smoker, and able to speak fluent English? You may be able to take part in a research study to learn more about the characteristics of current smokers. This study involves 1 screening visit and 2 study visits, with one of the visits involving an MRI brain scan. Participants must be willing to not smoke for 8 hours before the 2 study visits. Compensation provided.

MEET THE RESEARCHER


Michael Sayette

Michael Sayette, PhD, is Professor of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sayette received his bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College and his PhD at Rutgers University. He specializes in researching and teaching about alcohol use, alcoholism, cigarette craving, and the psychology of addiction. At his Alcohol and Smoking Research Lab, Dr. Sayette conducts research studies that look to better understand alcohol and tobacco use. A Fellow of the Association of Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association, Dr. Sayette has been a professor at the University of Pittsburgh since 1991.
