STUDY BASICS

Are you 18 years of age or older? Have you been diagnosed with Monoplegia, Hemiplegia, Paraplegia, or Quadriplegia? You may be eligible to participate in a research study to evaluate the potential risks and benefits of a hypothetical Brain Computer Interface (BCI) implant, such as might be available to patients with spinal cord injuries in the next few years. Compensation provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to explore public perceptions of a hypothetical Brain Computer Interface (BCI) implant. Your participation will provide valuable insights into how people assess the benefits and risks of BCI technologies, which can guide future development, policy-making, and communication strategies.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Individuals with Monoplegia, Hemiplegia, Paraplegia, or Quadriplegia
  • Adults aged 18 years and older and located in the USA at time of participation
  • Must have access to a computer and internet service and able to control and read from a computer or have a helper to assist
  • Able to comprehend written information and willing to answer personal questions.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Review a summary containing key information about the BCI implant.  Complete a follow-up survey about your understanding and attitudes towards the BCI implant.
