STUDY BASICS

Do you have a spinal cord injury or disease? Every day is filled with decisions about mobility. Psychosocial Factors in Mobility wants to understand yours. This research study is about the real-life factors that influence how people get around after spinal cord injury. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to investigate the day-to-day differences in mobility patterns and the factors that inform your mobility decisions.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

  • 18 years or older
  • Are living with spinal cord injury or disease
  • Live in the US
  • Speak English
  • Have access to an internet ready device

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

  • Complete a brief survey
  • Participate in a virtual focus group (up to 90 minutes)
  • Share your experiences and what influences your mobility choices

MEET THE RESEARCHER


Lynn Worobey

Lynn Worobey, PhD, DPT, ATP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and a Research Scientist at the Human Engineering Research Laboratories. Dr. Worobey received her doctorate in bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She has extensive experience in biomechanics and is a certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). In order to achieve a more direct interaction with patients, she went on to complete a clinical doctorate in physical therapy. Her interests include maximizing function for individuals who use assistive technology.
