STUDY BASICS

Are you receiving wound vac therapy for a chronic wound? You may be eligible to participate in a research study at the Pitt-McGowan Wound Research Consortium. The study is being done to understand processes that cause problems in the healing of wounds. Compensation is provided.

  • Are receiving wound vac therapy for a chronic wound
  • Are at least 21 years old

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

3 visits - collection of wound dressing and 1 time blood draw (Please note, that for visits 2 and 3, if you are unable to return for an in person visit, a portion of the visit can be completed by phone and through a review of your medical record for updates.)

MEET THE RESEARCHER


Sashwati Roy

Sashwati Roy, PhD is a Professor of Surgery and a senior faculty member at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. Currently she serves as a PI in a multi-PI team for NIH funded National Diabetic Foot Consortium (DFC), University of Pittsburgh Clinical Research Units. With over 250 publications and more than 37,000 citations, Dr. Roy's research program is supported by multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Defense (DoD).
