STUDY BASICS

Are you a healthy and regular cigarette smoker? Are you an adult aged 21-65 years? If so, you may be able to participate in a research study to learn more about characteristics of current cigarette smokers, such as personality traits and cognition. Eligible participants are 21-65 years old, speak and read English, and able to show valid photo ID. Compensation provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to learn more the characteristics of current cigarette smokers, such as personality traits and cognition. 


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Be 21-65 years old 
  • Regular cigarette smoker 
  • Willing to abstain from nicotine products for one session 
  • Speak and read English 
  • Be able to show valid photo ID 
  • Be in good health 
  • Not interested in quitting smoking 
  • Not pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or nursing 

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation involves attending 2 required sessions at the Behavioral Research Lab near CMU’s campus. The first session will be to determine the participant’s eligibility and will last approximately 1 hour. Following that, if eligible, you will be invited to partake in an experimental session that will last 1 hour. The session will include completing activities and tasks.
