STUDY BASICS

Are you the parent/caregiver of a 14-17 year old? Do they identify as transgender, gay, or bisexual? You and your child may be eligible for a research study to examine the perspectives on PrEP for HIV. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

We are conducting a research study examining the perspectives, barriers, and facilitators to Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV. This is a medication that when taken reduces the risk of acquiring HIV significantly. It has been approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) for safe use in adolescents who weigh more than 35kg (77 lbs). Nonetheless, it is not being prescribed at the expected rate nor is being used by the target population. For this reason, we are looking for adolescents ages 14-17 old to share their experiences about the topic.
