STUDY BASICS

Are you a woman with infertility, diminished ovarian reserve, or premature ovarian failure? You may be able to participate in a study that hope to better understand how genetics may influence these issues.

STUDY PURPOSE

To investigate genetic causes of primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) with or without diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) in women with normal karyotype and normal testing for premutations in the FMR1 gene

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

Have you stopped menstruating prior to age 40, or never menstruated

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Once women have consented to participate in the study we will collect a blood sample that will be approximately 10cc’s (1-2 purple top tubes). This blood draw will be used to obtain DNA. At the time of collection we will also obtain a family history and complete a family pedigree. You will also be asked to complete a questionnaire that goes over your personal health, with an emphasis on any OBGYN history. This study is being conducted by the University of Pittsburgh.
