AWARE – Acoustic WAveform Respiratory Evaluation - Ages 8-17 with an airway disorder

STUDY BASICS

Does your child have asthma, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), or another airway disorder? Your child may be eligible for a research study to help learn how to use smartphones to monitor lung function, and to identify changes in the airways that are associated with disease attacks. Most participants will only perform a one-time study visit. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well a new smartphone technology called “AWARE” (Acoustic WAveform Respiratory Examination) can measure the size of your airways if it can help diagnose certain diseases of the lungs, and if it can help detect attacks in those who are sick.

• 8-17 years of age 
• Children with Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, and other airway disorders.
