STUDY BASICS

Are you 50-90 years old? Are you cognitively healthy and able/willing to undergo MRI and PET scans? You may be eligible to participate in a brain imaging research study using positron emission tomography (PET) scans to look at two types of proteins in the brain. This research study will investigate biological markers of Alzheimer’s disease. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to investigate biological markers of Alzheimer's Disease.  This research study is using positron emission tomography (PET) scans to look at two types of proteins in the brain.  These proteins form abnormal deposits in the brain that are seen in Alzheimer’s disease.

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • 50-90 years old
  • Cognitively healthy
  • Have a study partner (friend or family member) willing and able to accompany you for one or more of the visits.
  • Able and willing to undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) scans

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation requires 2 sets of visits 18 months apart and involves:

  • 3 PET scans and 1 MRI Scan
  • Blood Draws
  • Health and Cognitive Assessments
