Are you 55 to 70 years old? Have you been diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration, primary open angle glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy? You may be eligible to participate in a research study is to learn more about how people with and without vision loss perform coordination tasks. Compensation is provided
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to learn more about how people with and without vision loss perform coordination tasks.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- Between 55 and 70 years old
- Diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration, primary open angle glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy.
- No medical conditions that impact hand movement or dexterity.
- No color blindness
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
- You will be asked to participate in up to 3 visits lasting no more than 8 hours total.
- During the visits, you will have sensors placed on your upper body and wear glasses while performing coordination tasks under different lighting conditions.

Rakié Cham, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University Of Pittsburgh Swanson School Of Engineering. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Cham’s research interests include postural control, gross movement biomechanics, gait, falls, and ergonomics.
