STUDY BASICS

Are you a Perinatal Care and Family Support provider? Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh are conducting a research study to learn how to better support healthy sleep during the postpartum period.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to learn women’s experiences with sleep after childbirth and their thoughts on a community-centric intervention that aims to help improve sleep health.

Perinatal & family care support provider, including: 

  • Community Health Worker or Representative
  • Doula
  • Lactation Profession
  • Maternity care coordinator
  • Home visitor
  • Nurse
  • Social Worker
  • Family Support Specialist
  • Maternal mental health specialist
  • Parent advocate
  • Family educator
  • Outreach worker, navigator, or care manager

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

  • Complete a 20-30 Minute Online Survey
  • Some participants may be invited for a 45-60 minute follow-up interview

Marquis Hawkins

Marquis Hawkins, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Hawkins’ research interests include the interrelationship between physical activity and sleep during and after pregnancy, as well as the independent and joint relationships these health behaviors have with maternal health outcomes.
