Have you had a stroke? You may be eligible for a study to that could help restore lost speech and motor function. This study will examine the effects of deep brain stimulation in people who have speech and movement problems as a result of a stroke. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of our study is to describe the effects of deep brain stimulation in specific brain regions in people who have speech deficits, motor deficits of the arm and hand, and/or swallowing problems due to a stroke. More specifically we would like to understand if the use of deep brain stimulation can improve motor function of the hand and arm, and speech abilities and swallowing.
