Resilient Environments Advancing Adolescent and Child Health (REAACH) Study: Longitudinal Interviews and Surveys - Parent
STUDY BASICS
Are you a parent of a child 11-14 living in the Pittsburgh Metro or surrounding counties? You and your child may be eligible for a research study to understand which factors and experiences support or undermine the physical, mental, and behavioral health of youth in our local communities. If you agree to participate in the study, you will be asked to complete 4 surveys over the span of 2 years.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to understand which factors and experiences support or undermine the physical, mental, and behavioral health of youth and families in our local communities. We intend to use this information to inform the development of prevention and intervention efforts that improve the health of children and families. Our goal is to advance knowledge of how best to promote youth and family well-being.

Parents who live in the Pittsburgh metro area or in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Lawrence, Washington, or Westmoreland counties and have children who are between 11 and 14 years old.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
If you agree to participate in this study, you and your child will be asked to complete a series of surveys over the course of two years. Surveys will collect information about participating parents’ and children’s demographic backgrounds; their behavioral, mental, and physical health; their health-related behaviors; their family and neighborhood experiences and perceptions; their cultural background and beliefs; their experiences with stress and prejudice; their beliefs about mental health and well-being; and their socioeconomic well-being. We are interested in understanding your viewpoint based on your personal and family experiences.
