STUDY BASICS

Are you a women who struggles with obesity and pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence? If so, you may be able to take part in a research study to discuss your preferences on treatment options. This study involves one remote interview (that can be complete on the telephone). Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

Researchers are working to learn more about preferences of patients who struggle with obesity and have pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence. Researchers are interested in talking to patients in order to improve how providers discuss options and present risks and benefits of these options.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

obese women (BMI >/= 35 kg/m^2) with a diagnosis of pelvic organ prolapse (either self-diagnosed or via medical visit) or stress urinary incontinence (either self-diagnosed or via medical visit)


WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

This study involves one telephone call that will last ~30-60 minutes. You will be asked questions about your experience with prolapse or incontinence, your medical history, previous surgeries (if any) and a series of questions about your preferences on discussion of weight/obesity surrounding management of your prolapse or incontinence. You will be able to contact the study team at any time during the study with issues.
