STUDY BASICS
Are you 20 weeks pregnant or later and receiving care and delivering at UPMC Magee Womens Hospital? You may be eligible to participate in a research study to improve early detection and management of conditions like preterm preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction. Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to develop a tool that predicts clinical outcomes for preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). The goal is to improve early detection and management of conditions like preterm preeclampsia and IUGR.

Pregnant individuals receiving care and delivering at UPMC Magee Womens Hospital with a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy.

Hyagriv Simhan
Hyagriv Simhan, MD, MSCR, is professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and chief of the division of maternal-fetal medicine and medical director of obstetrical services at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. His main area of research has been on preterm birth. Because of his efforts to improve patient safety and quality of care, Dr. Simhan has been awarded the Fine Award from the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative, and the Achievement Award for Health Care Quality Improvement/Patient Safety from the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania.
