TrialNET Pathway to Prevention - Ages 2½ - 17

Are you the parent of a child aged 2 ½-17 who has a relative with type 1 diabetes? Your child may be able to take part in a research study to learn more about the development of type 1 diabetes in children who have a family member with the disease. Children found to be at an increased risk for type 1 diabetes may qualify for additional research studies aimed at preventing or delaying the disease.

Age Range
AGE:   2 - 17

Duration VISITS:  At least 1 visit

Teens with Type 1 Diabetes: A Focus on Friendship

Are you the parent of a teenager who has type 1 diabetes? Is your teen currently in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade? If so, you and your teen may be able to participate in a research study, done in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University, to learn more about the role that friends play in the psychological, behavioral, and physical health of children with type 1 diabetes. Compensation is provided.

Age Range
AGE:   13 - 17

Duration DURATION:  Up to 8 months
VISITS:  2 visits

Location LOCATION: 

At home or at Carnegie Mellon University
